ITOBITO's AW collection took up more time than usual because there were many smaller updates in between. We worked on Yumemiru Kits, Shawlography Kits and also the big one, Advent Calendars! As we are nearing to the delivery of Advent Calendars, we also developed the AW collection called 'Hoshi no Buranko', meaning The Swing of Stars. It is also actually a very beautiful autumn spot in Osaka which I would like to introduce!
Hoshi no Buranko (The Swing of Stars)
Hoshi no Buranko is the name of a suspension bridge in the middle of a hill forest. It is located in Katano city in Osaka prefecture, which apparently is famous for it's legend of Tanabata. Hence, the bridge is nicknamed after the festival. This majestic red colored bridge is surrounded by a forest, therefore when autumn comes, you can see a beautiful array of gold and red color surrounding it. It's a little hike up to the hills but the view is magnificent. I went there with friends 2 years back and it was amazing. I highly recommend it! Colors
Autumn in Japan is magnificent. I've never really learnt about the beauty of autumn until moving to Japan and it has since been my favorite season of the year. I didn't develop much colors for last year's AW collection so this year there are quite a few! We have a total of 11 new Core Colors and 5 new Signature Solids. Half of the AW colors are inspired by nature during the season of Autumn in Japan. The second half is a continuation from last year's star series for the Winter season. This year winter I'm imagining a cozy time at home hence the colors may appear softer and warmer.

From left: Damask, Bed of Roses, 星のブランコ (The Swing of Stars), 宇治 (Uji), Maidenhair

From left: 朝日, 夕日, Nightfall, Vesper, Aurora, マロンクリ(Chestnut Chestnut; also a pun for Melancholy)
Can't leave out are the beautiful semi solids of the season! I think these will go so well in any colorwork piece.

From left: Sea Salt, 弦音 (Tsurune), 紅葉 (Momiji), Mont Blanc, Charred not Burnt

Added with Cozy and 煉獄 for some more Autumnal look and colorwork inspiration.
Individual colors from the Shawlography Kits; Hygge and Autumn in Paris are also up for pre-order.

How to Order
The update this time is going to be pre-order basis. We will also add on some colors from past collections that we think will go well with this collection. It'll take about 4 weeks to produce your orders. Delivery will be around the 2nd or 3rd week of December. Depending on amount of orders and weather, the timing may extend. Also, we have not announced yet but we will be having a pop-up store in Eylul on 18 December! So, you'll have a choice to pick up your order there without any additional cost!
Yarn Bases
As for bases, we have prepared 7 different ones for you to choose from!
Bases available for pre-order are:-
Sock - 85% SW Extrafine Merino, 15% Nylon (4-ply). 400m/100g.
Sparkle Sock - 80% SW Extrafine Merino, 15% Nylon, 5% Gold Stellina (4-ply). 400m/100g.
Merino Single - 100% SW Extrafine Merino (1-ply). 380m/100g.
Sara Suri - 75% Brushed Baby Suri Alpaca, 25% Mulberry Silk (1-ply). 300m/50g.
Merino DK (renew!) - 100% SW Extrafine Merino (4-ply). 225m/100g.
Moko Mohair (new!) - 60% Kid Mohair, 40% Silk (1-ply). 600m/50g.
Darumerino (new!) - 100% SW Extrafine Merino (2-ply). 320m/100g.
Darumerino is a yarn base by Osaka homegrown yarn company, Yokota Co. Ltd. This base is tough and will make defined stitches on your projects. It is a fingering weight yarn but the thickness can pass for a light sport weight yarn. Using an Osaka base yarn for ITOBITO seems like the perfect combination!
We introduced Merino DK last year but we decided to change the length! Instead of the previous 200m/100g, it is now 225m/100g. It is still very cushy and perfect for any sweater projects. Knits up fast too!
For those who bought the Yumemiru Kits, the well loved Moko Mohair is finally making it's official launch! Lengthier and contains more silk than it's sibling, Mofu Mohair, Moko Mohair is a good choice to pair with singles or any fingering or lace weight yarn to create a sturdier fabric. It also produces a soft and silky halo. On its own, it creates an ultra soft and light piece that will surely be comfortable for any season. The content ratio of Silk and Mohair is the same as Silk Hasegawa's Seika and Avril's Silk Mohair.
