Well, what do you think of ITOBITO's 1st ever Advent Calendar? If you think we are done and is feeling a little lonely, we have prepared a wonderful KAL for you! In this winter, we would like to invite everyone to join us in this KAL called #PokapokaWinterKAL. There are also prizes to be won! Check out the info below.
What is a KAL?
A KAL is a knit-along whereby everyone knit together with a single cause in mind. When held in Instagram and other social medias, a KAL hashtag will be used to gather like-minded knitters. You could comment on each other's posts, giving likes and so forth, have fun with it! And most important of all, enjoy it at your own pace.
About #PokapokaWinterKAL
This KAL is to encourage the usage of mini skeins especially from advent calendars to create a knitted neckwear this winter. We also encourage the use of leftover or scrap yarns in your project. All we ask is to use at least 7 different yarns. They can be of different yarn colors, weights, bases and brands. Anything within the neckwear category is accepted including shawl, cowl, scarf and the likes. Any knit items that can keep our neck warm. Our partnering pattern this time is the Luminaria shawl by Lindsey Fowler (available in English and Japanese) but you can use any patterns to your liking. Enjoy the KAL and use this chance to create a stash buster project. Please see this page for suggestions of patterns. International participants are welcome!
How to join #PokapokaWinterKAL and prize lottery?
Post at least 1 photo of your progress and 1 photo of completion on your Instagram and tag them with #PokapokaWinterKAL. Feel free to check out other participants projects too.
Only completed projects may enter the prize lottery. Make sure that your completion post contains a full view of the completed project and these tags #PokapokaWinterKAL and #PokapokaWinterKAL_complete

Luminaria Shawl is our partnering pattern but please feel free to use any patterns to your liking. The choice of pattern will only determine the chances of prize lottery. Please find more about prizes below.
What are the prizes?
Prizes will be separated into 3 groups. Group 1, which are the customers of ITOBITO's Advent Calendar and Group 2, which consists of everyone else. Group 3 is for participation projects which did not complete. Projects that utilize the Luminaria Shawl will get double the entry for lottery. Prizes will be announced via Instagram and winners will be contacted via DM.

Participation Rules & Regulations
Choose any neckwear pattern. Our partnering pattern is Luminaria Shawl by Lindsey Fowler. You'll get 2 times lottery points if you use our partnering pattern or 1 point for any other patterns.
You can use any yarn colors/weight/bases/brands.
Use at least 7 different yarns in your project.
Tag your posts with #PokapokaWinterKAL. And #PokapokaWinterKAL_complete if you're applying for prize lottery.
Application for Prize Lottery Rules
Application for prize lottery is completed after posting more than once and inserting the corresponding hashtags.
Only completed projects may apply for the Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes.
Each participant may not win more than 1 prize.
You can apply for prize lottery once per project. You can apply up to 3 times with 3 different projects.
Projects that are completed and/or started before the KAL period are disqualified.
Feel free to join other KALs during the period but please respect the rules of these KALs. You may not apply for prize lottery with the same project that you've used in other KALs.
Please check and confirm if the corresponding hashtags on your posts works. That is to check whether they appear in the hashtags pages. If your posts do not appear in the hashtag pages, we are not able to draw lot with your entry. Please take note.
Any applications that do no abide by the rules will be disqualified. Therefore, please double check your entries.
Other Rules & Guidelines
Please set your Instagram account to public.
Do not post any parts or sections of the knitting patterns except for the main page.
Please refrain from duplicating, reproducing and reselling knitting patterns.
